A recent study conducted resulted with New York coming out on top. 

New York has been ranked 2017's Most Energy Efficient State, according to a study conducted by Wallethub.

To gauge the financial impact of doing more with less energy, the average American household spends at least $2,000 per year on utilities and another $1,900 on motor fuel and oil.

Wallethub compared the auto and home-energy efficiency in 48 U.S. states. Alaska and Hawaii were excluded due to data limitations.

Energy Efficiency in New York:

  • 4th - Home Energy Efficiency
  • 7th - Vehicle-Fuel Efficiency
  • 1st - Transportation Efficiency
