Smuggling contraband into prison is a serious offense. One New York state man took it to a whole new level.

Police say that 40 year-old Terrance L. Seymour, who had already been arrested for allegedly beating his girlfriend with a rifle, has been charged with trying to smuggle prescription drugs into Warren County Jail.

Here's where it gets really weird.

According to police, the Horicon, New York man tried to smuggle the drugs into the jail by hiding them in his prosthetic leg.

Warren County Sheriff Bud York said that Seymour was charged with promoting prison contraband, a felony, after correction officers discovered doses of the prescription drug Suboxone hidden inside a hollow in the prosthesis.

The Post Star reports that Seymour did not have a prescription for the drug.

Seymour lost his leg as a child when he was involved in a train accident.
