New York Mom Arrested for Letting 15 Year-Old Drive Alone

A young  driver was pulled over Sunday morning for speeding on the Sunrise Highway. Doesn't sound like too big a deal, however just young are we talking about?

According to NBC, the driver was only 15 years-old and this had landed her mother in hot water. NBC says that the 41 year old mother was arrested after she allegedly handed her daughters the keys and let her drive to work on her own.  

There are no details as of now, how fast the teen was driving.

While there are probably quite a few kids who'd be thrilled to have their parents just hand the kets to them like this, there unfortunately consequences for parents if an underage driver is caught driving alone.

The Mastic Beach, NY woman has been charged with endangering the welfare of a child, police said.
