Keep New York Mets GM Sandy Alderson in your thoughts.

Alderson said Tuesday that he had surgery "a week ago Wednesday" as part of his cancer treatment. The good news is that the Mets boss said the procedure was "fantastically successful".

The 68 year-old Alderson and the organization announced he had been diagnosed with a "very treatable" form of cancer in December 2015.

Alderson once again said that he has chosen to keep the type of cancer private. He went on to say that his treatment will not effect his role as General Manager.

Alderson also said that there isn't any further plans for more surgery as of now.
