We all know that driving and using your cell phone is a deadly combination, whether you're texting or making a call. But what about while riding a bike?

According to Gothamist.com, Brooklyn council member Mark Treyger thinks riding your bike while using your cell phone without a hands free device is worth a $50 fine. That could rise to approximation $200 with multiple infractions.

Under the council member's proposed law, offenders would be able to avoid the fine by taking a bicycle safety course.

So what are your thoughts, fines for cell phone bikers?

Ironically Treyger does not support a law forcing cyclists to use helmets.
