Netflix And Nintendo Reportedly Developing Live Action “Zelda” Series

The Legend of Zelda is a classic video game from Nintendo and it could be coming to life in the form of a live action series via Netflix. The Wall Street Journal reports the show can be described as a "Game of Thrones for a family audience."

WSJ adds that the show is being worked on closely with reps from both Netflix and Nintendo and cautions it could be scrapped if they can't agree on the creative direction. Netflix has gotten into the content creation business with great success in recent years, launching shows like House of Cards and Orange is the New Black.

Nintendo is actively looking to expand their character licensing business, so this is a move that clearly makes sense. Could we be looking at another Super Mario Brothers movie sometime in the future? Let's hope so.
