Wouldn't it be nice to to pick up a bottle of pinot noir while shopping for groceries?

That's what is happening in the state of Pennsylvania  6 ABC reports that eighty four grocery store locations across the state will now sell wine.

The transition will take some time. Some of the bigger store owners will naturally have to through the headache of corporate when it comes to inventory. Some of those owners estimate it could be anywhere from thirty to ninety days before they can wine on the shelves.

Some of the smaller, family-owned establishments already have some wine to offer, though the selection is a bit limited for now.

This will all change over time.

The closest locations to the Hudson Valley, according to the map, are the Ararat Tavern in Uniondale, and Summit Beer in South Abington Township.

Both of which are quite a hike from our area.
