New York State will only have one Howard Johnson's Restaurant left after a 60-year-old location closes up shop in Lake Placid on Tuesday.

The New York Times is reporting that the family run restaurant will shutter it's doors after being sold to another business that plans to take over the property. The Butler Family has owned the Lake Placid location for almost 6 decades.

HoJoLand.com, an online resource for fans of the almost-extinct restaurant, shows that there are now only two Howard Johnson Restaurant locations left. One is in Bangor, Maine and the other is a newly-reopened location in Lake George.

Independent owner, John LaRock of South Glenn Falls, New York, opened the Lake George location this past January after spending a considerable amount of money to restore it. TV Food Network star, Rachel Rey, once worked at the Howard Johnson's while living in Lake George as a teenager.
