My Lost Treasure: Van, Jim, and Patti

We are working on the theme of girls names right now on My Lost Treasure, and I couldn't forget about the Glorias.  A tune written by Van Morrison, and covered by many.  And a girls name, of course.  There are a lot of different versions of this song from which to to choose.

I'm not including all the versions, but since Van Morrison wrote it, we will listen to the version he recoded with his band Them back in 1964.  I will also play the version covered by The Doors.  Not the real dirty version, but it's not really for kids, either.  And since I love Patti Smith, and we always used to play her version on WPDH back in the day, I'm including her version.

So, to kick off the weekend, a triple shot of Glorias.  Tomorrow we'll feature another Gloria song, but it's not a version of this same song.  It's a totally different song that happens to have the same title.  And don't worry, it's not the one by Laura Branigan either.  It's a good one.
