We are still working on a places theme on My Lost Treasure.  Today's song was a hit for The Monkees, but it was written by Carole King and Gerry Goffin, two of my all time favorite songwriters.

Today's song was actually written about a street called Pleasant Valley Way in West Orange, New Jersey.  But when you grow up in the Hudson Valley, you can't help but to think it was about Pleasant Valley right here in Dutchess County.  The Monkees were a huge part of my childhood.  My sister and I had all the albums and we watched the television show every Monday night.  I think it was on Mondays, anyway.  And this song says so much about suburban life in America.  Plus, it has a great melody.

It's the perfect song for a Sunday morning.  Enjoy it, and the rest of your weekend.  Boris and I will be on the air bright and early tomorrow morning, talk to you then.
