My Lost Treasure: The Doors

Today is December 8.  Jim Morrison from The Doors was born on this day back in 1943. Hard to believe, but he would have been 73 years old today.  We are still working on a food and drink theme on My Lost Treasure, and today we are doing The Doors in honor of Jim Morrison's birthday.

The title of this song does not mention a food or drink, but this is definitely a whiskey drinking song.  Well, I guess it mentions whiskey in parentheses.  It's an old traditional song, but The Doors do it so well, and they have definitely made it their own.  I want to send today's pick out to my friend Merrilee Sweet. She used to request this song all the time back in the days when we worked together here at the radio station, and every time I hear it I can not help but to think of her.
