The theme is songs with a holiday reference in the title that were never meant to be holiday songs. Songs about red, green, blue, white (for Chanukah), candles, trees, lights, etc. Today the holiday word is bells. And we're going way back to the 1960s for this one.

I was pretty young when The Byrds came on the scene, but I guess my older siblings were into them because I remember growing up knowing all of their songs.  I still have a Byrds greatest hits cd that I listen to all the time, and today's song is from that album. I guess there are a few different versions of this song, but I'm going with the one I am most familiar with. Actually, it's the only version I ever knew.

If you have an idea for a song that can be tied in with the holidays, yet isn't an actual holiday song, let me know what it is. You can email me at robyn@wpdh.com or find me on facebook. Thanks!
