My Lost Treasure: Melanie

The new theme on My Lost Treasure is holiday songs that aren't holiday songs. Songs with something in the title that reminds us of the holidays. Like colors. Red or green for Christmas, blue or white for Chanukah. Candles, lights, trees. Today's song reference is candles.

Melanie was at Woodstock back in 1969.  She was talented and adorable.  And she came back to almost every Woodstock anniversary celebration to play, and I am not even sure she even got paid.  I think she just did it for the love of the music and the festival.  I got to meet her a few times, and she was always very nice and proud to be part of the anniversary celebrations. I liked her a lot, and maybe that's why I try to include her songs on My Lost Treasure when I can.
