My Lost Treasure: Marshall Tucker Band

Happy Father's Day!  Our theme of professions continues on My Lost Treasure.  Yesterday we featured a cowgirl song.  And today, for the guys, it is a cowboy song.  Cowboy is a profession, right?  I say yes.

I got to meet Doug Gray from The Marshall Tucker Band many years ago at a great venue we used to frequent in Amenia.  It was called Tickets.  It was about an hour from Poughkeepsie, but they had great Bands, great food, and it was always a really good time.  Sometimes we got to announce the band on stage, and that meant we got to meet them backstage.  That was the case for me when Marshall Tucker played.  Doug Gray was so down to earth.  He showed us his new in ear monitors and shared the story of his toe infection.  It was like hanging out with the guy next door.  And then they went on stage and did a kick ass show.
