The theme is guys names right now on My Lost Treasure.  Today's lost treasure might very well be my all time favorite Lynyrd Skynyrd song.  No, it's not Freebird or Sweet Home Alabama.  Although those are both great songs.

I remember when I first found out about Lynyrd Skynyrd.  Our friend Joe brought the Second Helping album over to Larry Rothstein's house.  We never really knew Joe's last name.  It was Plogar or Plogart, or something like that.  We just used to cover our mouths with our fingers and mumble when we had to say his last name.  I honestly don't know why we didn't just ask him.  Anyway, we listened to the album.  We were all pretty blown away.

Years later I had the honor of interviewing Rickey Medlock, former drummer and current guitarist with Lynyrd Skynyrd.  he told me that his grandfather Shorty Medlock was one of the inspirations for this song.  That made it even cooler to me.  I hope you like it too.
