My Lost Treasure: Janis Joplin

The theme we are working on right now on My Lost Treasure is transportation songs.  The sub theme is automobiles.  Thanks, by the way, for all the great suggestions.  Today's lost treasure was another one from facebook.

The first time I heard Mercedes Benz, it wasn't Janis Joplin singing it.  It was Rhonda, the girl that lived across the street from my best friend Eileen.  Rhonda was older than us, she had cool clothes, lots of parties, and her bedroom was downstairs in her house, safely out of sight from her parents.  We could even write on her walls.  She wasn't even old enoght to drive, but she always said she wanted a Mercedes, and she used to sing that song.

I don't know if Rhonda ever got her Mercedes Benz, but I got to know Janis Joplin's music.  And I think Janis did a much better job singing the song than Rhonda ever did.  And I'm still friends with Eileen...
