My Lost Treasure: Grateful Dead

Color is the theme right now on My Lost Treasure.  There are so many color songs.  The blues alone could take weeks.  Today I picked a grey song.  It's a good one, too.

I remember when Touch Of Grey first came out.  I was working at a top 40 radio station.  I was so excited that I was actually able to play The Grateful Dead on a station that played Madonna a hundred times a day.  Top 40 was definitely not my favorite format, so this song becoming a hit was a real treat for me.  But it wasn't a treat for some Grateful Dead fans.  They thought it was kind of a sell out for The Dead.  I've never understood why a true fan would get upset by the successes of a band they love.  This is a great tune, and The Dead deserved the recognition.  So, today's color is grey.
