Since we're working on automobile songs, I figured we'd play this one that reminds me of when I was a kid...it seemed to be a big hit back then.  I never realized it was a cover version of a song that was originally written back in 1955.  I only knew the Commander Cody version from the 1970s.

I met Commander Cody in the early 2000s when he played a concert for developmentally disabled people in Orange County.  He and his band were kind enough to play that concert every year.  And to make it even cooler, one of our local Hudson valley musicians, bassist Rick Mullen played with Commander Cody for many years.

So for all those reasons, and because it's a cool song and a great memory, I've chosen it to be today's lost treasure.  Plus, it really fits the theme.  See you back on the air on August 3!
