My Lost Treasure: Bobbie Gentry

Our theme on My Lost Treasure is guys names, and as we so often do on weekends, today we are playing an oldie.  Those of you who are around my age will remember this one.

For me, Ode To Billie Joe was just a hit song.  I knew the words, and sang along to the song, but did not really think about what it all meant until I was a bit older.  It is not a happy song.  It's about suicide and indifference.  Happy no, but a good song, yes.  I think they even made a movie based on the song.  And I am pretty sure it did not win an Oscar.  If you remember the song, give it a listen and enjoy the memories.  If you are not familiar with it, give it a listen to hear the story.
