The theme is transportation.  We've been doing train songs to start the theme.  Today's song was written by Steve Goodman, but made famous by Arlo Guthrie.  A whole bunch of people have recorded this song, but this is the version I know and remember the best.

There is a lot more to Arlo Guthrie than Alice's Restaurant.  And he's great all year, not just at Thanksgiving.  I had the pleasure of meeting and interviewing Arlo in 1999 at Day in the Garden.  There were a few Day in the Garden concerts at the Woodstock site before it became Bethel Woods.  Arlo was nice, and humble, and funny.  And he shared some great stories about the 1969 Woodstock concert.

I'm taking transportation requests.  If there is a train, plane, automobile, boat, ship, etc. song you want to hear, just let me know.  Enjoy the rest of your weekend.  Boris and I will talk to you tomorrow morning at 6.
