As a little girl growing up in Orange County, I loved going to Museum Village on Route 17M in Monroe.  It was fun and educational, although the fun part is what I was interested in at the time.  It was where we went when we had out of town guests, especially if they had kids.  And Museum Village is still going strong, and it opens for the season this Saturday, April 11.

Not familiar with Museum Village?  Museum Village is a living-history museum.  This year marks the 65th anniversary of Museum Village, and the 40th anniversary of the museum's Labor Day Civil War Reenactment.  Michael Sosler, executive director, says the museum has a lot planned to celebrate this year.

Opening day hours are 11 a.m. - 4 p.m.  The snack bar will be open for snacks and refreshments and the gift shop will be open.  For more information go to http://museumvillage.org/
