The Garrison House was built in 1751 by Isaac Garrison, who fought in the battle of Fort Montgomery and was captured by the British. The home, in Fort Montgomery New York, was a stop for travelers long before and after the war.

In 1761, Captain Molly Corbin stayed at The Garrison House. Corbin was the first female war veteran to be given a pension. She was injured so badly during the Revolutionary War that she never fully recovered from her wounds. After Corbin's husband, a cannon operator, was killed by enemy fire Molly stepped in and took over his post becoming a true war hero.

This home is ranked number 5 on our list of haunted Hudson Valley locations for a few reasons.

Ghost Detectives visited The Garrison House and filmed their paranormal investigation:

Donna Parish-Bischoff, local author and founder of Indy Para, Paranormal Investigators in Hyde Park took an all-female team to The Garrison House. They were able to explore the home completely alone. After hours of thinking they had no evidence they left and started listening to audio recordings from the investigation. On the tape was a distinct male voice saying the word "dufus" after two of the two women had been kidding around.  Donna returned a few months later to film a news segment when a member of the crew was freaked out by what sounded like an old woman screaming inaudible words.
