Moroney’s Cycles has been a family operation for three generations. When it came time for the Newburgh-based business to celebrate its 60th birthday, the family stayed close to home.

"Motorcycles is a passion and something we love to do and we love just spreading the wealth to anyone we can with a new business," Moroney's owner James Moroney said.

Moroney’s partnered with newer Hudson Valley businesses Underground Coffee & Ales of Highland and North River Hops in Wappingers Falls for their anniversary. A staff member at Moroney's had previously worked with Underground owners Jeremy and Erin Intonti, who had a connection to North River and its head brewer, Brandin Stabell.

Underground brought Moroney's and North River together, and the three businesses collaborated on a beer they’re calling Panhead.

"Panhead is a type of motor Harley had era-specific to 1956 when we began," Moroney said.

The beer is a five percent ABV blonde ale made with an English strain of yeast.

Panhead will be unveiled at Underground on Sunday as part of Moroney’s 7th Annual Shoot and Scoot bike run. The collaboration beer will also by available at North River Hops and Ole Savannah restaurant in Kingston after its Underground debut.
