Moped Crash Leaves Man Dead, Wife In Critical Condition

A moped accident over the weekend has left one man dead with his wife in critical condition.

LoHud reports the man and woman of Greenwich, Connecticut were on a Vespa scooter heading northbound on Stone Hill Road in the town of Bedford. They allegedly lost control and hit a tree around 11:30 Sunday morning. The man, Frank Verni, was pronounced dead at the scene while his wife Joanne was transported to Westchester Medical Center.

Police have said the couple were both wearing helmets and the investigation is ongoing.
