According to the Times Herald Record, Monticello Mayor Gordon Jenkins will serve the next 45 days behind bars after an incident where he punched a Monticello Police Officer.

During the 2012 incident, the officer was holding back another man from attacking the mayor. The other man had threatened  Jenkins at his Beauty Supplies store. Jenkins was convicted in February 2014 of misdemeanor obstructing governmental administration in February and disorderly conduct, a violation. Read MORE.
