Happy Birthday today (March 6) to Pink Floyd singer/guitarist David Gilmour. He’s 71. Other rockers celebrating include Manowar bassist Joey Demaio (63) and ex Megadeth guitarist Chris Broderick (47).

Pink Floyd is estimated to have sold over 250 million records worldwide. Pink Floyd’s last album, The Endless River was released in 2014. Gilmour stated that it would be Pink Floyd’s last album. The Endless River was the band’s first album since the passing of keyboardist and founder Richard Wright and the third by the David Gilmour-led Pink Floyd following the departure of Roger Waters. Waters left the band in 1985. The band was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1996. Two classic Pink Floyd albums, Dark Side of the Moon and The Wall are two of the best-selling albums of all time.

David Gilmour released his last solo album Rattle that Lock in 2015. Cheers today to Mr. Gilmour! A longtime debate among Pink Floyd fans has always been the question: David Gilmour or Roger Waters? I respect both musicians but have always been more of a David Gilmour fan myself. Who's your pick?
