Monday, March 2: Remembering Lou Reed on His Birthday

Today (March 2.) would have been Lou Reed's 73rd birthday. The singer, guitarist, and main songwriter of the Velvet Underground had a career that spanned decades. His solo album Transformer was a critically acclaimed release that featured the hit single 'Walk on the Wild Side'. The album ranked on Rolling Stone magazine's list of the 500 greatest albums of all time.

Reed died on Oct. 27 2013 at the age of 71 due complications from a liver transplant.
