Monday, August 31: Rock n Roll Birthdays

Happy Birthday today (Aug. 31) to guitarist Rudolf Schenker of the Scorpions. He's 67. Also celebrating today is Winger and Whitesnake guitarist Reb Beach (52).

Rudolf Schenker founded the Scorpions in 1964 at the age of 16. The most successful lineup of the band was from 1978-1992 where Rudolf was joined by Klaus Meine (vocals), Matthias Jabs (lead guitar), Francis Buchholz (bass), and Herman Rarebell (drums).

The Scorpions have sold over 75 million records worldwide, and continue to tour. The band's 50th Anniversary World Tour hits the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, NY Sept. 12.
