Pairing vegetables with wine? Wait, aren't you supposed to pair white wines with white meat and red wines with red meat? Does that mean that there are green wines that are supposed to go with vegetables?

Stop panicking about what is the "right" thing to do and let the pros at Whitecliff Vineyards help you come to your own conclusion about what is the right pairing for you. (Yes, there is a category of wines called green wines--Vinho Verdes--but they are great summer sippers and do pair well with light salads, cheese and warm weather porch wine sippin').

On Saturday, June 18 from noon to 5PM, Whitecliff Vineyards will be hosting a "Veggies & Vino" Seminar. This special afternoon will pair six of their wines with foods from the cookbook, For Goodness Sake: Plant Based Recipes from the Spiral House Kitchen. Tickets, which include the tastings and a copy of the cookbook, are $32.

Do you prefer to drink white wines, roses or red wines? Do you like to "break" the wine pairing rules, for instance, drinking a Pinot Noir with roast chicken? If that is what you enjoy drinking, keep doing it. To this date, wine police have never actually showed up at anyone's home and arrested them.
