A Middletown Couple is accused of stealing jewelry, credit cards, cash, and more from several homes in Orange County.

Police say Talib S. Barnes, 25, and 20-year-old Miranda J. Jones, both of Middletown, entered two separate homes in the Village of Florida and stole credit cards, cash and electronic devices.

When police located the couple in Chester they were allegedly in possession of the stolen property.

Both were charged with two counts of burglary.

An extensive joint investigation involving New York State Police, the Village of Chester Police, Village of Florida Police, Town of Woodbury Police, Village of Harriman Police, and the Village of Monroe Police revealed Barnes and Jones were also responsible for several additional burglaries throughout Orange County, police say.

The investigation is ongoing and additional criminal charges may be brought against the couple.

Barnes and Jones were arraigned in the Village of Chester Court and were remanded to the Orange County Jail without bail pending their next court appearance.
