According to the Times- Herald Record, the MHCC will be acquiring the Sugar Loaf Performing Arts Center, formerly known as the Lycian Center. A press conference is set for tomorrow morning.

Sugar Loaf is located on Kings Highway in Sugar Loaf and was privately owned until 2012 when it became a non-profit organization. Many great performances have taken place there ranging from live music, theatre, and special performances. In fact, I have had the honoring of emceeing a few of those when it was the Lycian Center for Performing Arts. It is a beautiful space. The recent economy hasn't been kind to many organizations and Sugar Loaf Performing Arts is one of them.  According to their website, they temporarily closed as of November 2013.

I'm excited to hear about the future plans for Sugar Loaf, the involvement of the MHCC, and the revitalization of one of Hudson Valley's treasures. Check back here after the press conference for all of the details!
