Don't be surprised if you see a giant camera on your street, it's just Microsoft photographing your house.

Microsoft's search engine, Bing, has been playing catch-up with Google Maps for the past couple of years. And now, it seems, they are taking their turf war to the Hudson Valley. Google's "street view" feature has become very popular and is now something that Bing is trying to do themselves. This month Bing has been spotted driving cars around the Hudson Valley with giant cameras mounted on top.

In April of 2012 the Google Street View camera was spotted throughout our area, causing some to get creative with their curb appeal:

When they visited three years ago, Google painstakingly drove almost every road in the Hudson Valley, photographing their view every step of the way. Because of that, users of Google Maps can see pretty much any home in the Hudson Valley with a click of the button. As of right now, Bing does not have street view available in our area... but it looks that is about to change.

So beware! If you live in the Hudson Valley, your home is probably being photographed this month. You might want to make sure your lawn is mowed and that old couch is removed from the curb, otherwise it'll be memorialized online forever.
