The New York Mets are entering the season with big expectations, and they certainly delivered to the second largest crowd in Citi Field history Monday.

The Mets overcame six scoreless innings by scoring six runs in the seventh inning to eventually beat the Atalanta Braves 6-0.

Mets starter Noah Noah Syndergaard pitched six scoreless innings leaving with a blister in his right middle finger.

Lucas Duda connected for a three-run double against Atlanta.

The Mets finished second in the NL East in 2016 with an 87-75 record.  They are expected to challenge the Washington Nationals for the top spot in the division this season.

The Mets will face the Braves again Wednesday at Citi Field at 7;10 p.m. Jacob deGrom will get the start.
