Metro-North says regular Hudson Line service remains suspended indefinitely following the derailment. It recommends people make other plans, including travel on the Harlem Line. Southbound, reduced service runs from Poughkeepsie to Yonkers. Bus service takes passengers from Yonkers to 242nd Street for the #1 Subway. Northbound, people should take the Shuttle from Grand Central to Times Square for #1 Subway service to 242nd Street. Buses can take them from there to Yonkers for the trains. The city’s subways operate two extra #1 local trains per hour during peak periods. Cross-honoring of the Hudson Line continues on the subway. NJ Transit says because of the derailment, it cross honors all rail tickets on the Port Jervis Line today both ways between Port Jervis and Secaucus.
