Metro-North announced this week that subway fares, MTA owned bridge tolls and tickets on Metro-North trains will all be increasing. Lohud is reporting that the increase could be around 4 percent over the next two years.

Subway riders will see an increase of another quarter to $2.75 per ride. On Metro-North trains the increase would vary depending on what station you are traveling from. The increase would be anywhere between  2.2 percent up to 6.1 percent.

This announcement comes on the heels of a report that shows dissatisfaction with Metro-North has grown considerably over the past year. Satisfaction on the New Haven line has fallen from 86 percent to a measly 58 percent. The Hudson line, which serves stops between Poughkeepsie and Grand Central saw satisfaction drop from 96 to 84 percent according to the Times Herald Record.

Riders who would like to chime in on the proposed rate hikes can leave a video message at the Poughkeepsie station on December 9 from 4 to 8 pm.
