Messy Monday Morning Commute for Parts of the Hudson Valley
More snow is on the way for the entire area, as we head into Monday morning (Dec. 18,) but parts of the Hudson Valley are going to get more than the rest.
The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for Orange, Putnam, Rockland and Westchester counties from 10PM Sunday night until 7AM Monday morning.
The advisory area is expected to see light snow to start off but then overnight and into the early morning hours that will transition to sleet and freezing rain. Amounts of snow and sleet are expected to be light but still enough to make it hazardous for motorists.
As for the rest of the Hudson Valley, like Dutchess and Ulster counties, the National Weather Service says to expect some light snow overnight. A dusting to half an inch is expected. Of course with the cold temperatures, it will stick to most surfaces. Columbia and Greene counties are expecting about the same.
