Melissa Etheridge Posts ‘Selfie’ and Video From Poughkeepsie

Singer Melissa Etheridge was having such a fun time in Poughkeepsie this weekend that she just had to share it with her social media followers.

During a concert at the Bardavon on Sunday night Melissa Etheridge surprised the crowd, and many of her social media followers, by performing one of her songs live on Periscope.

Periscope is an app developed by the makers of Twitter that allows users to stream video in real time. During the stream, someone in the front row is holding Melissa's phone and filming her performance. After she's done, Etheridge grabs her phone and waves goodbye to her followers.

Before leaving the stage, Etheridge made sure to memorialize her time in Poughkeepsie by Tweeting a "selfie" of her and the audience at the Bardavon.
