This week's new movies seem to a have theme. Probably not on purpose but it's there if it's meant to be or not. What is the theme you ask? Being trapped.

'This is Where I Leave You' and 'The Maze Runner' are both about people being stuck somewhere. Judging from reviews, we don't want to be stuck in the theaters watching them.

There are some big names in 'This is Where I Leave You,' Jason Bateman, Tina Fey and Jane Fonda being a few. The father of the Altman family passes and all of his children return to their childhood home as adults for services. A sad day but not problem except the father's last wish was to ground all of his children and force them, their spouses and ex's to stay at the house for a week and deal with each other because they have grown apart. Imagine your longest family reunion and then some. Those of you who can relate will get some laughs but for most, critics are averaging this at about a 47% on moviefone.com and Rotten Tomatoes and 5.8/10 on IMDB.

The next novel-to-movie this weekend speaks for itself as far as the theme of being trapped goes. 'The Maze Runner' follows Thomas (Dylan O'Brien - Teen Wolf, The Internship) and a group of other boys who like him have woken up in a maze with little to no remembrance of his past, just what his dreams tell him of a dystopian world. As he gets closer to finding a way out he also gets closer to figuring out his past and who he is meant to be in the future. Do I sense coming of age? From the trailers I get bit of a Hunger Games vibe, but you can make your own decisions. This only has an average of 65% between moviefone.com and Rotten Tomatoes, but IMDB gives it a 7.9/10.

Check our the trailers below and see for yourself. And as always, until next week, we'll MEAT at the movies!
