This batch of new releases is looking to be for the kids...and lovers of SpongeBob. Jeff Bridges could not save the Seventh Son, nor could Channing Tatum and Mila Kunis ascend Jupiter.

Channning Tatum and Mila Kinus star in the Wachowski's latest Sci-Fi action/adventure. Kunis plays a seemingly mediocre cleaning lady who is actually destined for greatness not just in our world. A genetically modified super warrior, Caine (Tatum), is tasked in finding her and showing her who she is truly meant to be. Critics aren't calling this one any more than your basic action/adventure, however it does look pretty. With a Metacritic rating of 53 and Rotten Tomatoes showing only a 25% this is the weekends first flop.

In Seventh Son, Jeff Bridges looks a bit like Galdalf from The Lord of the Rings. However there is no magic that can save this movie. Based on the novel, "The Spook's Apprentice," Bridges plays a mystical warrior, last of his order who is set out to find the last Seventh Son who is said to have great powers. He is found in a farm hand played by Ben Barnes who then joins the adventure to take down the dark queen played by Julianne Moore. Some were hoping the two Oscar winners, Bridges and Moore would bring something to the table since their meeting in The Big Lebowski. That didn't happen. Critics are saying where this movie should have gone campy or serious it is neither and that's why Rotten Tomatoes only rates this a 7%.

And now the movie the SpongeBob fans have been waiting for, The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water. After the pirate Burger-Beard, played by Antonio Banderas, learns that the last page of an evil book he has is located in Bikini Bottom, he will stop at nothing to retrieve it. Before their town is completely destroyed SpongeBob, Patrick, Sandy, Squidward and Mr. Krabs take the fight to the surface and become super heroes with the most ridiculous powers. Naturally with the combination of animated underwater and live-action with CGI on the surface its a bit weird but kids will love it either way. This is going to be the top movie this weekend with a 66 on Metacritic and 73% on Rotten Tomatoes.

As always, take a look at the trailers below and until next week, we'll MEAT at the movies!
