From this week's new box office, we learn from one movie that you're never too old to go on an adventure. Then from the other, something we already knew and that's the fact that some movies should never be rebooted. A Walk in the Woods and The Transporter Refueled are the two choices for new movies this week.

Starring Robert Redford and Nick Nolte, celebrated travel writer Bill Bryson (Redford) chooses, instead of retiring, to find a friend to go on one last adventure challenging himself to hike the Appalachian Trail. After exhausting his top companion choices he settles for his old out-of-shape friend Katz (Nolte). Not only do they not see eye-to-eye anymore but Katz see this as a way to avoid some debt for a while. With a rating of 49% on Rotten Tomatoes A Walk in the Woods is the top new release. Critics say that the over 40 audience will surely be attracted based upon Redford and Nolte alone but may not find anything more than a  couple of old men complaining. If you're looking for some great realization of one's self by watching a pair of older guys take a hike then you're mistaking.

Now for a reboot that should not have been. You can't just replace Jason Statham with a guy like Ed Skrein who looks more like a model than a spec-ops mercenary. Well anyway, as the Transporter series goes, Frank Martin (Skrein) works as a reliable professional driver who transports people or packages or almost anything really without questions, it's one of this rules. During a visit from his father (Ray Stevenson - and the only reason I may see this movie) Frank is approached by three very good looking ladies in need of a getaway driver for a bank heist. Naturally something goes wrong and not only do the ladies turn on him but he needs to deal with a Russian Kingpin. Since I've started writing this the Rotten Tomato has dropped from 22% to 17% and I'm not sure how I feel about this. With critics making a lot of lower quality gas puns, I'd say overall that this new Transporter is not nearly as exciting or as fresh as the original series.

Take a look at the trailers below and as always until next week, we'll MEAT at the movies!
