If stalker guys and possessed grandmas are the creepiness you're looking for then you and this weekend's new releases are a perfect match. With the two mystery & suspense flicks The Perfect Guy and The Visit out in wide release we have definitely gotten out of the family oriented movies of the summer and have switched to appease a whole different audience.

In The Perfect Guy, Leah Vaughn (Sanaa Lathan) breaks up with her long term boyfriend after their views of their future together no longer align. While dealing with her pain she finds someone perfect Carter (Michael Ealy) with whom she runs into a passionate relationship with. As it turns turns out nothing is perfect and Carter turns out to be a violent/stalker/psycho/creep and Leah must turn to her ex, because well, not having a baby right now doesn't seem half bad.  (No Rotten Tomatoes rating as of yet but this will be updated when it does)

Another one of M. Night Shyamalan's thrillers, The Visit follows two kids on their trip to their grandparents house where their mother grew up. Of course the grandparents start off super cool and turn creepy when one of their rules of the house is not followed, specifically not leaving the bedroom after 9:30 at night. But its not your usual weird grandparent stuff, its some possessed, creepy, somethings-wrong-with-grandma weird stuff. Critics are calling this Shyamalan's best in a while, but after The Happening, Lady in the Water and The Village (which I did like) that's not saying much. He still can't get to the greatness of Signs or the Sixth Sense but he may be on his way back up. Rotten Tomatoes gives The Visit an overall rating 57% so it could be worse. Oh, and course, expect the usual twist at the end, it's kind of Shyamalan's thing.

As always, take a look at the trailers below and until next week, we'll MEAT at the movies!
