Meat at the Movies: It’s Time to Warm Up

It's too damn cold here in the Hudson Valley, it's time to warm up. Start running or hang in a hot tub - out this week is the comedy Hot Tub Time Machine 2 and the Disney docudrama McFarland, USA.

First, the sequel, Rob Corddry, Craig Robinson and Clark Duke return with Hot Tub Time Machine 2. The guys need to use that magical time traveling hot tub to go into the future and save one of the guys lives. Filled with rude jokes and bodily fluids, Rotten Tomatoes has this movie sitting at a low 10%. In a nutshell critics are saying this sequel should have never came to be.

It's time for another Kevin Costner sports themed movie. McFarland, USA follows a white coach (Costner) recently moved to a low-income California town with a predominately Hispanic population. Based upon a 1987 true story, the high school kids and coach looks to and succeeds in forging a championship cross-country team. With a heart-string performance by Costner this movie gets a 61% on Rotten Tomatoes with some critics saying that though this movie isn't on many people's minds it's definitely worth a trip to the theaters.
