Meat at the Movies: Focus on the Lazarus Effect

Will Smith explores his inner action star in his conman movie Focus while Olivia Wilde plays with death in The Lazarus Effect.

In Focus, Will Smith stars as a conman, Nicky, who falls for his protege and quckly cuts ties. Years pass and they meet up again during a high stakes racer circuit. By this time she becomes a top femme fetal who goes against Nicky's original plan and throws him off. This only has a rating of 62 on Metacritic but critics are calling it exciting and beautifully made.

Next, the horror movie, The Lazarus Effect with Olivia Wilde is something to look at. Maybe this won't be the best movie as far as story, but I like the cast way better than Focus - Olivia Wilde, Mark Duplass and Donald Glover. The idea behind this horror story is that a group of medical researchers try to reanimate the dead. After Wilde's character dies in the process and funding gets taken away, they find a way to bring her back. And of course for a horror movie, they not only brought her back, but something evil within her.
