Meat at the Movies: Fifty Shades of the Kingsman

Valentines Day makes way for the movie (almost) all of the women have been waiting for. It's also the movie most most guys don't want to be dragged to see. Out this weekend is Fifty Shades of Grey and for the non-romantics Kingsman: The Secret Service.

First off, the ladies. From the exceedingly popular book series comes the live action sexy romance movie, Fifty Shades of Grey. College senior Ana (Dakota Johnson) interviews a young powerful businessman, Christian Grey (Jamie Dornan), and themselves strongly attracted to each other. Things continue on to create the right about of domination and sex to get everyone woman who read the book ready to go, however, critics are split in half to wither the movie will do the same. With only a 45% on Rotten Tomatoes, some critics are calling this good fun where others claim there is no need for a cold shower to cool down after watching it. All I can say is, fortunately I got myself out of seeing this one, I'm sorry to all the guys out here who are not as lucky.

Now, something for everyone else, Kingsman: The Secret Service. This one is also based on a book, a comic book, and directed by Matthew Vaughn who did Kick-Ass and X-Men First Class so you know there will be some good action. This one follows a secret spy organization with James Bond-esque gadgets who recruit a street kid (Taron Egerton) and put him through their intense training program. With stars like Colin Firth, Michael Caine and Samuel L. Jackson there's no wonder why Rotten Tomatoes gives this a 76%. Both critics who support and who are against this movie call it very juvenile. It all depends on your taste in movie and I can tell you, it's exactly my style.
