Lately it seems like studios are just pumping out movies to hit some sort of quota. Who makes these decisions? Stop with the Rock the Kasbah Bill Murray and give us something even as small as another Zombieland.

Billy Murray stars in the story of washed up rock manager, Richie Vance, who travels to Afghanistan on a tour with his last client. While there he gets stranded without any money or a passport. Fortunately while he is stuck there he finds a local girl with a great voice. He sees this as an opportunity to get back into the scene and manage her through the Afghanistan version of "American Idol." Unfortunately for Murray, however, this movie only has a Rotten Tomatoes rating of 8%; can't even break the double digits. Critics are calling it boring, unconvincing, and overall unsuccessful. So there's that.

Next, the one with the most promise, The Last Witch Hunter with Vin Diesel. Diesel plays Kaulder who was cursed with immortality after killing the Queen Witch. Since then he has been vanquishing rogue witches who try to spread the black plague across the human race. But the stakes have gotten higher now that the Queen Witch has been resurrected with the one goal of revenge and destroying all humans. Rotten Tomatoes has it rated at 17% and while not the worst it's still pretty bad. Critics are saying that its a failed attempt at the start of a new series due to the lack of an interesting lead character and poor plot planning.

How many Paranormal Activities will there be? Many hope that this fifth installment will be the last. Paranormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension is the story of a family who finds a video camera in their new home that can see things the human eye can't, paranormal things. The activity in the house rising the more they see things with this camera that terrifies the family and takes control of their small daughter. The general consensus seems to have people agreeing that what was once a good set of movies have turned into an overplayed series.

Lastly, the 80s cartoon turned live-action movie, Jem and the Holograms. Following an internet music sensation turned actually superstar, Jem and her band a.k.a her best friends a.k.a. her 'family' struggle through the ups and down of being in the limelight. Jem struggles specifically with the idea of going solo or sticking with her band but once she finds an old invention of her Dad's with a secret video message she remembers that family should always come first and nothing is more important that family. Critics are calling it a gimmicky adaption to appease the current generation of tweens.

Check out the trailers below and as always, until next week, we'll MEAT at the movies!
