Move over Straight Outta Compton, it's the weekend of action. Now don't expect American Ultra or Hitman: Agent 47 to be better, at all, just different and with explosions and gun fire. Actually, maybe no different all.

First, everyone's favorite awkward actor, no not Michael Cera but Jesse Eisenberg stars opposite of Kristen Steward in the action/comedy American Ultra. After living what seems to be a very boring small-town stoner life, Mike (Eisenberg) has a moment that triggers who he really is and his exciting past. While working at a convince store he is attacked and as a result, activated. Mike was trained as a sleeper agent and has now become a top priority to be terminated because he is beginning to remember. With a rating of 50% on Rotten Tomatoes critics are pleased with Eisenberg and Stewart's performance but are not too happy with the turn from a fun stoner theme to a brutal killing-spree bloodbath.

Then there is Hitman: Agent 47. Based off the critically-acclaimed Hitman video game series this movie falls very, very short; worse than the first adaptation from 2007. If you're not familiar with the series, clones were genetically modified to form an elite group of assassins. Only known by the number of the bar-code tattooed on the back of their neck the series follows the agent numbered 47. This movie follows 47 whose target is a corporation who is trying create their own army based on 47. During this process he begins to learn of his own past and needs to fight those memories as well as taming up with woman to beat this corporation. With a rating of 5% on Rotten Tomatoes critics are saying that this fast-paced action shoot-em-up movie is hollow as far as plot goes. A few even call it a hour and a half long Audi commercial.

Lastly, its not an action movie, but still pretty bad. A follow-up to the 2012 horror flick Sinister, Sinister 2 follows a mother and her 9-year-old twin sons in a house that if you're in it, you're pretty much dead. With the first movie's murder being done by everyday items this second one becomes a bit more unbelievable due to the farfetched ways of murder. Critics on Rotten Tomatoes give this an 8%. Apparently the dumbfounded deputy from the first one wasn't the best choice to lead this sequel.

As always take a look at the videos below and until next week, we'll MEAT at the movies!
