McGinn’s Scottish Ale – Week of 12/30/13

Ring in the new year with a full-bodied Scottish ale, brewed in Athens, NY. The Crossroads Brewing Company is a 7 barrel brew house that keeps their 10 taps running at all times.  This week's selection is a low-alcohol version of a Scottish ale.  At just 4.5% ABV, this beer can keep you celebrating through the night and into 2014.

We call these beers "session" ales because they are low in alcohol so you can drink a few pints over a nice long conversation with a friend, but don't be deceived; even though McGinn's is low in alcohol, it's still very complex and full bodied.

Can't make it up to Athens to check out the brewery?  Grab a growler at Half Time on Route 9 this week, pour a pint of Scottish Ale, and watch the scenery from Crossroads Brewing Company on their webcam.  Next time you're up near Catskill, though, be sure to stop by for some great food and a fresh pint.
