After the movies coming out this week, I'm not even that upset with the cancellation of the "The Interview" release next week; until next week comes of course. We're looking at some big money makers at the box office between "The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies," "Annie" and "Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb."

First lets look at the last installment of the Night at the Museum series,"Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb;"  it's said to be the best one yet...or so says the previews. It's only received a 50% on Rotten Tomatoes and 38/100 on Metacritic. Starring the usual cast, Ben Stiller, Owen Wilson and the late Robin Williams this one takes the gang around the globe to England to try and save the magic that keeps the museum displays alive. Critics claim it's filled with corny jokes (what do you expect?) with actors who need to finish out their contract.

Next, Annie with Jamie Fox. No, sadly Fox does not play Annie, that would be fun, unlike this movie. Quvenzhané Wallis plays the character everyone knows who has gone through it all in foster homes. Fox plays a billionaire in the running for mayor whose advisers suggest he take her in and be her guardian. Of course this is a family movie, so it turns out Annie is more like his guardian-angel. With 20% on Rotten Tomatoes and 30/100 on Metacritic, this movie looks to make some money but it will be far from any sort of record. Critics claim that there is clumsy directing and no heart put in to this movie adding to this movies decline.

Finally, "The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies" is out, the last of the Middle-Earth movies. I've got to say I've been very excited about this one because I've been following the movies since the first Lord of the Rings. This one follows the fellowship through the final battles against the overwhelming darkness including the dwarven king under the mountain's lust for fortune and the dark armies. Fortunately I was able to actually see this movie before writing this and I'm happy to say I enjoyed it. I did drink a but too much of my huge blue Icee and had to pee the whole time but I did not move from my seat. Of course it was visually great and stunning to watch but it wasn't my favorite of the Hobbit trilogy. It was definitely filled with the most action but The Desolation of Smaug resonated with me more. Somehow this only has a Metacritic rating of 59/100 and Rotten Tomatoes gives it a 61%. It's still going to make a boat load of money.

Check out all the trailers below and as always, until next week, we'll MEAT at the movies!
