Marlboro Man Charged With Fleeing Police, Possessing Cocaine
Dutchess County sheriffs have arrested a Marlboro man in connection with a traffic stop and failure to comply.
Richard Whitted, 45, of Marlboro, NY was arrested after fleeing from a traffic stop, while in possession of cocaine. Around 8:30 p.m. Thursday deputies stopped a vehicle on Route 9 in Hyde Park, but the driver fled the stop in his vehicle before fleeing on foot. He was later apprehended and identified as Whitted.
Whitted was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled substance in the 5th-Degree, as well as other misdemeanors and traffic violations, according to a press release.
Whitted was arraigned in Hyde Park court and remanded to Dutchess County Jail without bail.
