Marist men's basketball coach Jeff Bower will be leaving the program after one year to reportedly take job as General Manager of the Detroit Pistons. Bower will report to team President and Head Coach Stan Van Gundy. Bower had spent 15 years in the NBA, including time as General Manger and Head Coach with the then New Orleans Hornets. According to the Poughkeepsie Journal, Bower has formally resigned his position as coach of the Red Foxes. He spent one year as head coach at Marist, finishing with a record of 12-19. He had also served as a Marist assistant coach under Dave Magarity from 1986 to 1995.
